Hi there, I'm writing to introduce myself. Currently CEO at the Jane Goodall Institute Australia (JGIA) where we are focussed on supporting our work in Africa protecting chimps and in Australia creating the next generation of environmental leaders through Roots & Shoots.

I have a background in marketing and fundraising, and have worked extensively for other conservation organisations like WWF-Australia and for a local Land Trust where I spent 7 years working on marketing conservation agreements and a $10M Revolving Property Fund. I also contributed to a peer reviewed paper on the the motivations and barriers for private land holders participating in conservation (esp with agriculture).

I am keen to bring together greater involvement in PPAs with younger people given the challenges for many involved in private land conservation being older and facing a myriad of challenges and pressures.

As CEO at JGIA I am also bringing Jane Goodall's mission of hope through action to life by creating programs from early childhood through to early school leavers that provides educational resources and actions that ultimately lead to opportunities for training that may lead into careers in natural resource management.

One of these, Embrace the Wild, provides young people with a resource kit with over twenty urban habitat projects to choose from. We are also producing videos for young people to get active in their community and here's one to give you an idea of what it's about.

This launches in October 2021.

Thanks very much. Look forward to meeting more of you. Don't hesitate to reach out and say hi.

Hi James, great to hear about your work with the younger generations - as we are doing the same sort of thing for early career and practitioner conservationists it seems like we will be able to collectively help generate the next generation of conservationists.
