Every year, young, talented, and ambitious nature conservationists from all over the world shoot their shot for this prestigious award. Ultimately, three inspiring wildlife heroes are selected as the winners. The FFN Award not only provides winners with a €50,000 prize to boost their conservation work, but they also gain international recognition and many connections within our widespread nature conservation network. Winners will join the FFN Family allowing them to connect with, learn from, and even work with their peers.

With the FFN Award, former winners could jumpstart their non-profit organisations, expand their nature- and/or community-based initiatives and develop new conservation projects and strategies. For example, Rebecca Cliffe, one of the FFN awards winners in 2022, creates the first ‘Wildlife Safe Zones’ in Costa Rica to provide a safe reintroduction area for sloths and other species. 2021 FFN winner, Mónica Torres, creates additional biological corridors to protect, extend and connect the habitat available for the Campbell’s alligator lizard in and between the 3 distribution areas. Iroro Tanshi, 2020 awards winner, assesses the social context of cave disturbance from fruit bat hunting in order to specify a Theory of Change framework that will inform intervention plans for the protection of the species.

Are you our next Future For Nature winner? Take a look at our application criteria and apply now! The application deadline is on the 28th of August 2022 at 23:59 (CEST).
