Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone is thinking about applying the project docs in their organisation but go the same issue as me that we are only allowed to use the Microsoft file sharing platforms for accessibility and security reasons.
Has anyone had a go converting these docs into Excel?

Hi Claire,
I downloaded all the documents of the workshop as a compressed file and automatically transformed all the google docs into office formats. They seem to be working just fine but I will guess that some functions that are specific to google docs (such as extracting the information from the project plan to create a report) might have some issues since they are not linking the information from the correct source.
Hello, Yoshi is right, you can just open the docs in Excel and they work fine, but there are a few minor issues with them. But the report making process doesn't work (this is so much easier with Google). I've created some excel templates for an organisation and report conversion sheets, I can share them with you if you like? The report conversion only does the work plan tab. B
Hi Beth,
That would be great. THANK YOU !
I think the reporting feature was something I thought could really revolutionize how I'm getting colleagues to engage with me on the PM process at the moment. I could always research ways to make it work on excel and then share back to the group :)
Thanks for your comment :) good to know that you're looking at the same challenge as me :)
I'll email them over! :)
Hi Beth,
Could I jump on that offer as well? My workplace also only allows using Microsoft. And the report conversion feature was my favourite part of it all. Although I am also pretty sweet on the project tracker. :-)
We only use Google suite at work as it is so much easier with people working on different sites and working from home
Also, I think Google is pretty secure (we did research it heavily when we moved over to them). Google said the biggest risk is people leaving their computers unattended while logged in.
Thanks for sharing Katie, good to hear. We always recommend people have two-step verification on their Google accounts to make it more secure.
