Hi Jenna! A warm welcome to WildHub - it's great that you have joined us! Would you perhaps be able to share with us your top tips of making the conservation sector more accessible and inclusive through the power of social media? Thanks in advance for sharing :)
Thank you for the welcome, Thirza :) I think social media is a great way to reach people and encourage them to engage with nature, and communications outputs in general have a significant impact on people's views of an organisation / the sector. So things like making social media posts accessible with alt text, image descriptions and explaining scientific concepts in a way everyone can understand and find a point of interest are key. Also thinking about how we use language and images to present a positive and welcoming feeling is something I always have in the back of my mind when I'm writing posts.
Welcome Jenna, glad to have you here and look forward to drawing from your wealth of knowledge. Asides your passion of making nature accessible and inclusive, what other areas of wildlife conservation are you fond of?
Hi Grace, great to meet you and thanks for the welcome :) I'm very much a beginner at it, but I love learning about botany and the different habitats that plants create. What's your favourite wildlife topic to talk about?
I like to talk about courtship behaviour in birds, it's fun to observe and discuss.
That's such an interesting topic! It's always a popular one when it's mentioned on the BTO's social media too.
It sure is!!!
Welcome to WildHub, Jenna!
Thank you, Lara!
So lovely to see you on WildHub! :)
Hi Lize, thank you, happy to be here!
