Hi everyone, let me introduce myself!

I'm Rinaldi, I'm Indonesian but I've been living in Hong Kong for 8 years. I'm currently studying effects of mangrove structural complexity in providing habitat for juvenile fish, but I've also worked on benthic and fish biodiversity, water quality, ecosystem function and human impact. I love my work as a researcher but my homesickness have grown exponentially since the start of the pandemic, and I really want to go back to my native Indonesia and work on some conservation projects. In my opinion research work is very slow-paced and I want to try doing something with direct impact toward local communities. I'm also casually looking around for opportunities to go to graduate school. So if anyone has any advice/suggestion/just wanna chat and hangout feel free to reach out, I would love to grow my connection with likeminded people! :)

research assistant, Chinese University of Hong Kong

I have several years of experience doing research in marine ecology, specifically in monitoring biodiversity, trophic interaction, structural complexity, and human impact. I'm wanting to switch gears and focus more on conservation and making direct impact to society, so I'm trying to learn more about the social aspect of the field. I'm also looking for opportunities for graduate studies!
