Hello, everyone. My name is Alan, and I am from Northern Ireland. I have a BSc degree in Environmental Studies and recently completed my MSc in Ecological Management and Conservation Biology with Queen's University Belfast.

I work as a field ornithologist throughout Ireland and am mainly involved with conserving and monitoring Ireland's birds of prey.

I am looking forward to learning about project management.

Hello Flavia.

Thank you for reaching out. I am enjoying the PMWC course. I have been involved in different projects over the years at what I now believe to be the workstream leader/workstream member level. I never understood the structure, hierarchy and processes involved. Its something totally new to me and I'm learning a lot.

Welcome to WildHub, Alan! 🦅🌍

Your work as a field ornithologist, especially with Ireland’s birds of prey, is incredibly valuable, and we’re thrilled to have your expertise in the community! It’s inspiring to see your dedication to conservation and monitoring efforts for these species, and I’m sure your insights will enrich our discussions here.

As you dive into project management, are there particular skills or areas you’re hoping to focus on? Looking forward to learning from your experiences and sharing ideas together!

Hi Amanda, thanks for getting in touch.

Regards particular skills/areas I'm focusing on, I guess I would just like to get a thorough and sound knowledge of project management. Its something totally new to me and this course is very insightful. I would also like to continue the other remaining best practice courses as I think they all compliment each other very well.

You have quite the wealth of experience yourself too, and so varied! Brazil strikes me as one of those locations where wildlife and habitat conservation will be of utmost importance in the years to come.

All the best

Alan
