Hello!
My name is Kaya de Reede, nice to meet you all! I work at a wildlife rehabilitation centre in Ecuador, called Merazonia.
Since working at a wildlife rehabilitation centre I found it's hard to gather information about the process of releasing animals. I've therefore been working on a website about wildlife releases. My aim is to get as much information together from different centres with different expertise so these centres can work together without having to explain their release every time another centre asks for it. I think it can help a lot of animals with a better start to their life in the wild again.
The website is still a work in progress so feel free to give me any tips or ideas. I've created some membership pages and some pages you need to use a password for. This can be used to only give approved rescue centres access to this information if centres would prefer this.
Have a look at: www.tobewild.org and let me know if you would like to participate. I would love to explain more about it. You can contact me through email: kaya.dereede@outlook.com or WhatsApp (+593958836827)

Welcome to WildHub, Kaya.
Thank you Lara!
Hi Kaya! Many thanks for your post and a warm welcome to WildHub!
To make sure I understand which information you are looking for, could you please clarify: you are looking for example processes of releasing which animal species? I can imagine that it can be very different depending on the species, so the more information you can give us on what you are looking for, the better. Then I can help notify the relevant experts in our community. Many thanks!
Hello Thirza,
Thank you very much!
I'm basically looking for examples from all different species. I would like to have a lot of examples on the website, so other rehabilitation centres can read through all of that and apply it to their situation. I think the more the better, as every centre, release and all circumstances are different.
Thank you for helping out!
Hi Kaya,
Welcome to WildHub. I am one of the organizers of the Primate Capture, Release, and Alternatives Room. The room is a safe place for people to share best practices for capture, ideas about alternatives to capture. It’s a project of the International Primatological Society. Some of our members have experience with rehabilitation and release. If you are interested in joining the room, please fill out this very brief survey. Let me know if you are interested but have trouble with the link.
Best,
Elena
Hi Elena,
That would be great! I'm definitely interested in joining. I've filled out the survey, but I got redirected to this page when I clicked on the link. Could you help me with joining?
Thank you,
Kaya
Hi Kaya,
I'm so glad you are interested in joining the room and am sending you an email with a link to the room - it's the last step.
Elena
Thanks for circulating this Kaya - it does sound like a great idea. I have passed the details on to a couple of contacts who might be interested.

Dear Kaya,
Heartfelt welcome.
I have read your query regarding wildlife rehabilitation. I work mainly on snakes, but I also work on other animals when it’s necessary. As I am based in Bangladesh, I will still be happy to help you. If you have any requirements, let me know.
