1. Michael, Can you introduce yourself?
Michael: I haveworked in the conservation and wildlife sector for many years and have had a varied career spanning business, tourism, and the arts. In 2018 I set up a CIC called 9Trees. Our vision is to tackle climate change by restoring new woodland habitats, promoting biodiversity, creating jobs within the countryside sector, and connecting more people to nature.
2. What inspired you to become an environmentalist?
Michael: I want to make a difference on a national level and for future generations, leaving a legacy to be proud of

Let's talk a little bit about greenhouse problems.

Michael:No. Taking responsibility for you or your company's actions is the answer to global warming. Reducing your carbon footprint and leading a more sustainable life.
Ussi:👨🏽💻
1.2. What has the biggest impact on carbon footprint?
Michael:How we travel & heat our homes, for example, flights and vehicles & Coal vs solar Heat source pumps.

1.4. What reduces carbon footprint the most?
Michael:Individual motivation to commit to one action.

Let’s talk a little bit more about your involvement with WildHub.
2.1. How did you hear about WildHub and why did you join?
Michael: We stumbled upon it through environmental friends and networks. I joined Wildhub shares a similar ethos to 9Trees and to have a community who shares this around you is so important to the crisis we face.
Ussi:👨🏽💻
2.2. For someone who is a leader in conservation, what are the top 5 lessons you can share with us?
Michael:
Get involved
Don't be afraid to ask questions!
Talk about your environmental improvements at home and work
Talk about how hard you have found something and seek help with your problems.
Grow something in your garden/balcony / local community.
Ussi:👨🏽💻
2.3. How does your work impact other people in conservation?
Michael: We are creating jobs within the countryside. We are linking up with a plethora of organizations both within the government and outside the government. We are also creating highly skilled opportunities for those to transfer into the environmental sector.

Thanks, Michael Cunningham, for sharing your insights and wisdom with our WildHub members and many others around the world, I particularly like your perspective or insights on the life of environmental sustainability by bringing people together in a holistic way to create positive action for biodiversity and climate change and our mental wellbeing.
Thank you, @Michael Cunningham@Ussi Abuu Mnamengi ! I like the idea that 9Trees has made the target so neatly concrete! 9 trees per year per person ... or 700 trees over a lifetime
Dear conservationists, the great smoke and blanket of fog when you looking at the sky, there was not a single grimmer of light, we need to really think about it. There is no waste if don't create waste, we need to turn the heating down a few degrees and take the bus or cycle to work in the morning, we need to build wasteless world by systematic waste applicable by industry, We need INDUSTRIAL UPCYCLING.
Thank you so much for this contribution Ussi and Michael. I love this holistic approach and encouraging everyone to do their little bit, very empowering
Inspiring contribution Ussi and Michael, thank you for sharing it with our community!
@Michael Cunningham : since starting 9Trees, would you be able to share 3 lessons learned on starting your own Community Interest Company (CIC)? We have quite a few members who are interested in how to start their own organisation/company and it would be very useful if they could learn from your insights. Many thanks!
