Building an online community: CO-India hub’s journey of community-building during the pandemic
The CO-India hub came into being right around the time of the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. While starting our journey during such a turbulent time meant that our plans of hosting in-person events were no longer feasible, we took solace in the fact that the power of the internet could galvanize us.
During this webinar, we will share our story of starting a movement during the pandemic by harbouring the powers of social media. We will discuss the process of choosing important organisational components like which platform to use, what content to produce and what audience to cater to. We will also discuss the rewards and challenges of building an online platform that aims to provide a space for people to share their stories. We hope the workshop will provide a space for us to have a conversation about building an online community, particularly within the context of conservation.
