THIS IS A 3 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT POSITION | Working with the Regional Director, support the effective development and implementation of IFAW’s habitat restoration programme with and through partners including, local NGOs and landholder networks as part of the Landscape Conservation Program in Australia. Two fully funded 4-year PhD studentships are available at Universidad Veracruzana (Mexico) to carry out:a project investigating spider monkey distribution in human-modified habitats under the supervision of Dr. Denise Spaan and Dr. Filippo Aureli.a project investigating social influences on spider monkey vocal communication under the supervision of Dr. Margarita Briseño Jaramillo and Dr. Filippo Aureli.Potential applicants should have a Masters degree in a relevant field and have some knowledge of Spanish. The PhD thesis can be written in English, but knowledge of Spanish is important to navigate the bureaucracy. Unfortunately, because of COVID, these jobs have been extremely hard to come by and I doubt any will be available any time soon. Ascension Island Conservation Internships

If anyone is looking for an internship I can highly recommend working on Ascension Island. Internships run for 1 year and are unpaid however travel to the island, accommodation and subsistence are covered. There is so much to get involved in within the department, seabirds (I was the conservation seabird scientist there for 5 years), turtles, plants and fisheries. Please pass on the information to anyone who might be interested.
