Week 1 - PMWC 🌱

Week 1 materials and notes

You've already had this material via email, but I am also posting it here to keep everything in one place.

Within the shared Google folder, there is a subfolder called ‘Week 1’, here. Within this folder you will find the following videos:

  1. Training workshop overview
  2. Welcome from Adam (WildTeam Executive director)
  3. Introduction to PMWC
  4. Introduction to the WildHub message board.

There are also the following PDF presentation slides:

  1. Training workshop overview
  2. Introduction to PMWC.

Before the first live session please can you:

  • Watch the first 4 videos
  • Introduce yourself in this WildHub private room (referred to as the message board in the training videos). If possible, do this as a post, rather than a conversation and make sure you select the room to post it within. See the WildHub video for guidance.
  • Please note ALL future training materials for this training workshop will be sent via this WildHub message board. Get in touch if you have any problems.

All the documents are nested within one higher-level folder, but because of the way that Google Drive works this isn’t always obvious. I’d recommend adding the top-level folder, here, to your Drive to make it easier to find the files. You can find more information and the link to the live sessions in the welcome document here.

The first live session will be at either 10 am or 6 pm BST on the 7th September. Please see the welcome document in the Google folder for details about the software needed for the live sessions.

If you have any questions please get in touch via email or on the message board. We are looking forward to seeing you in the live sessions soon.

Warm wishes,

Beth and Lucy

WildLearning Specialist, WildTeam

I'm a WildLearning Specialist with WildTeam, a bit of a odd job title. My main role is to design, deliver and organise both our online and class-based training workshops. One of the best parts of my job is meeting other conservationists and learning about the work that they do. I really enjoy geeking out reading teaching theory and thinking about ways I can more creatively and engagingly deliver learning. Before working for WildTeam I did a PhD in invasive plants and human wildlife interactions. I find it really interesting to learn about the ways people interact with nature, both when nature is being wonderful, but also when is is being a bit annoying!
