It is time to get started with week one of the Strategy Development for Wildlife Conservation online training workshop. I hope you are feeling ready to hit the ground running! It was lovely to meet some of you in the first live session this morning, I am looking forward to the second session of the day.

Within the shared Google folder, there is a subfolder called ‘Week 1’, here. Within this folder you will find the following videos:
  • Training workshop overview
  • Welcome from Adam Barlow (WildTeam Executive director)
  • Introduction to Strategy Development for Wildlife Conservation (SDWC)
  • Introduction to WildHub (the message board).
There are also the following PDF presentation slides:
  • Training workshop overview
  • Introduction to Strategy Development for Wildlife Conservation.

Before the first live session please can you try to:
  • Watch the first four videos
  • Introduce yourself here within the WildHub private room (referred to as the message board in the training videos).
Please note ALL future training materials for this training workshop will be sent via this WildHub message board, please let us know if this is a problem and we can email you instead.

All the documents are nested within one higher-level folder, but because of the way that Google Drive works this isn’t always obvious. I’d recommend adding the top-level folder, here, to your Drive to make it easier to find the files. If you'd like any Google Drive advice please don't hesitate to get in touch.

The first live session will be at either 10 am BST or 6 pm BST on the 22nd of June. Please see the welcome document in the Google folder, here, for details about the software needed for the live sessions.

If you have any questions please get in touch via email or on the message board.

I’m excited to see you all soon in the live session!  

Warm wishes,

Beth and Lucy

WildLearning Specialist, WildTeam

I'm a WildLearning Specialist with WildTeam, a bit of a odd job title. My main role is to design, deliver and organise both our online and class-based training workshops. One of the best parts of my job is meeting other conservationists and learning about the work that they do. I really enjoy geeking out reading teaching theory and thinking about ways I can more creatively and engagingly deliver learning. Before working for WildTeam I did a PhD in invasive plants and human wildlife interactions. I find it really interesting to learn about the ways people interact with nature, both when nature is being wonderful, but also when is is being a bit annoying!
