Week 4 - SDWC 🐘
Introducing week 3 material and exercises
Thank you for the fun live sessions yesterday.
FEEDBACK ON SITUATION ANALYSES
It was great to see the situation analyses you created, some really good stuff in there and I am learning lots. We will give feedback on them this afternoon and tomorrow morning. I'd strongly encourage you to read the feedback and make any changes you want. I'd also recommend looking at a few other groups' conceptual models.
IF YOU WERE NOT IN THE LIVE SESSION
If you were not in the live sessions this week, I strongly recommend you make a situation analysis of your own by editing a template here. Please let me know if you'd like any feedback on it. We are all learning here, so please do not be worried about making mistakes. Applying the theory you've learnt by creating conceptual models is the most useful thing you can take away from this training.
We are now onto week 4 of this Strategy Development for Wildlife Conservation training workshop. Two treats for you this week, here, are:
- Defining the impact
- Planning the work.
The defining the impact process is where we think about the impact that we want to have, but be careful in this process not to get carried away and start planning the work so the activities that you want to do to achieve your impact. That is because planning the work comes next, this is an exciting step when you get to think about what activities you can do to achieve the impact you want to see. Both the defining the impact and planning the work processes contribute towards creating the theory of change conceptual model.
One exercise this week requires you to work on your conceptual model worksheets, they are in this folder. It is important this is done before the next live session.
IF YOU HAVEN’T YET BEEN TO A LIVE SESSION
Don’t worry if you haven’t been to a live session yet, you are still very welcome to start joining in with them now, details and the zoom link are in the welcome document here.
The exam will be on the 30th of November at either 10 am or 6 pm GMT. To accommodate those who can't make those dates we will put on an extra session at 6 pm on the 1st of December. Unfortunately only in extenuating circumstances can we put on extra exam sessions as they require a lot of our time to run. Any questions or concerns about the exam please do get in touch.
