Week 6 - SDWC 🦢

Final week! This contains the mock exam link and an exercise on applying your shiny new skills

Hello amigos,

Welcome to the final week of this Strategy Development for Wildlife Conservation online training workshop. We’ve really enjoyed getting to know you all and hope you have enjoyed the training.

THIS WEEK'S MATERIALS

There is just one video this week, here, which is split into 3 parts:

  • Applying your skills
  • Mock exam
  • Revision.

The video explains more about the mock exam, so it is a good idea to watch that first. Here is the link to the mock exam.

This document has extra revision ideas in. One of the revision ideas involves working in pairs or groups, so if this is something you would like to do I'd suggest putting a shout out on here. If it suits your revision style you could also arrange to chat with others just to chat over the materials or ask each other questions.

Here is an example of the applying your skills exercise that a previous participant created. It doesn’t have to be a word document, a post on WildHub is preferable. I just made this into a word example to make it easier to share.

Here is a link to the document with details of how to play the Kahoots in your own time (no time limit).

EXAM

The exam will be on the 17th of March at either 10 am or 6 pm GMT. To accommodate those who can't make those dates we will put on an extra session at 6 pm GMT on the 22nd of March. Unfortunately only in extenuating circumstances can we put on extra exam sessions as they require a lot of our time to run.

If you have any questions or concerns then please get in touch.

With wild wishes,

Beth 🕊️

WildLearning Specialist, WildTeam

I'm a WildLearning Specialist with WildTeam, a bit of a odd job title. My main role is to design, deliver and organise both our online and class-based training workshops. One of the best parts of my job is meeting other conservationists and learning about the work that they do. I really enjoy geeking out reading teaching theory and thinking about ways I can more creatively and engagingly deliver learning. Before working for WildTeam I did a PhD in invasive plants and human wildlife interactions. I find it really interesting to learn about the ways people interact with nature, both when nature is being wonderful, but also when is is being a bit annoying!

Morning Beth
Might be asking for not just me... Are we able to take the mock exam more than once, as was the case with PMWC? I had a go earlier, and it would be great to test myself again after some more revision (I happened to accidentally press the link again just now and it said: You've already responded. You can only fill in this form once. Try contacting the owner of the form if you think this is a mistake. So there was no option to re-take, apparently.)
Look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes, Rachel

Hello Rachel, thanks for alerting me to this. I needed to change the settings, which I've now done so you should be able to do as many times as you like! B

Whoops, I jumped in too quickly - you've asked us to email you if we'd like to do the exam again. Sorry about that! Rachel

In the main exam do we have the back option incase you want to change an answer before submitting?
