Hello everyone,

I’m Alexandra Verdes, a biologist and ecologist passionate about connecting people and nature. My journey began with a Bachelor’s in Ecology and Environmental Protection and continued with a Master’s in Systemic Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation at Babeș-Bolyai University. Along the way, I also explored the human-animal connection through a post-graduate workshop in Animal-Assisted Therapy, which sparked my interest in interdisciplinary approaches linking wildlife, communities, and human well-being.

For the past several years, I have worked at WWF-Romania, progressing from Project Assistant to Project Manager. In this role, I have contributed to conservation projects, promoted sustainable practices, and worked closely with local communities to ensure that conservation efforts are effective and inclusive.

Volunteering and environmental education have always been close to my heart. I’ve organised educational activities for children and youth, and in my work in WWF, also for teachers, believing that fostering respect and understanding for nature is key to building a society that lives in harmony with its environment.

I am particularly fascinated by how innovative technologies can enhance both wildlife research and biodiversity conservation, helping communities engage with nature in sustainable ways. I look forward to sharing ideas, learning from this community, and contributing to a future where humans and wildlife thrive together.
