New WILD HUB MEMBER
Having gained a BSc in Ecology at UEA, and an MSc some years later in Wildlife and Habitat Management, I volunteered on overseas mammal projects, spent a couple of years lecturing students in wildlife and habitat management at Portsmouth University, and have worked in the conservation sector in the UK for a the last few years. I have taken twists and turns in my career with a stint working for a software company and with offenders in the Probation Service. But I am never happier than when I am muddy, working with volunteers, trying to enthuse others about nature, and watching wildlife come back to a site that has been recovered. I am passionate about wetland habitat loss and the effect it is having on the decline of water voles, the most endangered mammal in England.
I am looking forward to this course, learning better project management skills to make the most of the scarce resources available, to effect the biggest positive difference I can through funded projects.
I look forward to meeting other course participants :)
Best wishes Jane
