I’m Dr Gilles Rolin Ananfack Kenfack, a passionate environmental advocate from Cameroon, dedicated to the sustainable management of our natural resources and the conservation of biodiversity. I hold a PhD in Integrated Management of Forest and Agroforestry Resources from the University of Dschang, where I also completed my Master’s in Natural Resource Management and Agroforestry. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, which laid the groundwork for my analytical approach to environmental issues. My Expertise With extensive experience in project management and community-driven initiatives, I specialize in integrated resource management, biodiversity conservation, and the restoration of degraded landscapes. As the founder and president of the Cameroonian Association for the Promotion of Bamboo, Environmental Protection, Nature Conservation, and Local Development (BambouCamer), I focus on promoting bamboo as a sustainable resource that can drive local development and enhance environmental conservation. My role as Director of Programs at the Community Association for Sustainable Development (CASuDev) involves coordinating various conservation and restoration projects, including efforts to protect the forest elephant population in the Campo Ma’an National Park and restoring degraded landscapes in Babadjou. I am also skilled in community mobilization, capacity building, technical report writing, and social and environmental impact assessments. Throughout my career, I have successfully collaborated with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities to create sustainable and equitable solutions to pressing environmental challenges. My Interests I am particularly interested in agroforestry, the application of agroecological practices, and leveraging the potential of bamboo for environmental and economic sustainability. I am committed to advancing environmental sustainability and empowering communities, ensuring that development initiatives are both ecologically sound and socially just. I am a dedicated marine and freshwater biologist currently pursuing my PhD, focusing on wildlife conservation and sustainable fishing practices. My academic journey has been deeply rooted in understanding the complexities of marine ecosystems and the challenges they face. I completed my MSc with a thesis on the West African Manatee (T. Senegalensis), where I investigated the mechanisms of bycatch through different gillnet configurations. This study not only mimicked the daily fishing activities of local fishers but also provided valuable insights into the interactions between manatees and fishing gear. My findings revealed new species involved in bycatch, as well as the primary causes of fish damage, ultimately suggesting the best gillnet configurations to minimize bycatch. In my PhD program, I am expanding my research to identify and map bycatch sites along the coast of Cameroon. My current projects include analyzing various pollutants found in sharks and rays, understanding the effects of these pollutants on the health and genetics of these species, and determining their age to better comprehend their life cycles and conservation needs. I am passionate about reducing bycatch and promoting sustainable fishing practices. As part of my conservation activities, I will be training local fishermen on best releasesing practices, which involve techniques to safely release life bycatch back into the water, and educating them on how to effectively use GPS technology to monitor and manage their fishing activities. I believe that community engagement is crucial for successful conservation efforts. I invite community members and local stakeholders to join me in these important initiatives. I have just completed my BSc degree in Natural Resource Management (Wildlife & Ecotourism), from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, i also hold a Diploma in Environmental Management. i specialised in wildlife management, GIS and Remote sensing, Research,Biodiversity conservation, ornithology, ecosystem managment, watershed and wetland management, eco tourism planing, environmental education, population ecology and sustainable land mangement. Madagascar Fauna and Flora Group (MFG), a conservation organisation operating in Toamasina, Madagascar and employing over 100 Malagasy staff. My task is focus on organising and conducting community workshops and capacity building within MFG’s target areas in Madagascar, conducting field and laboratory research using contemporary methods, techniques, and materials, in collaboration with international collaborators, coordinating community-led management of Asian toads (a pest species in Madagascar), coordinating and conducting data collection via community surveys and citizen science to quantify socio-economic impacts of Asian toads in Madagascar, Leading teams of volunteers to conduct field research and community outreach and Managing field data and drafting reports. 

Abubakar Siddiqu With a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, I have a comprehensive understanding of animal biology, behavior, and ecology. My academic journey has equipped me with a solid foundation in the principles of zoology, including evolutionary biology, environmental science, and animal physiology. I am passionate about wildlife conservation and the study of animal interactions within their ecosystems. My studies have involved hands-on laboratory work, field research, and data analysis, which have honed my skills in scientific inquiry and critical thinking. I am adept at using various research methodologies to explore biological phenomena and contribute to meaningful scientific discussions. As a proactive learner and dedicated researcher, I am keen to apply my knowledge and skills to real-world challenges in zoology and conservation. I am particularly interested in opportunities that allow me to contribute to wildlife preservation, environmental education, and further research in the field

I have a doctorate in wildlife sciences and forestry. My specialization has always been landscape and community ecology and I focussed on the guild of carnivores to understand the same in my PhD. I invested in ornithology to overcome stress and am very vocal about walking in the jungle in the company of birds for good mental health. Currently, I am handling a few projects under the PSP portfolio where I am looking into safeguards for linear infrastructure and also for the conservation of small cats. I love writing especially about nature, interdisciplinary connections of the same, and policy to practice.

I am I am Ann Kuria, a degree degree graduate in Environmental Studies & Community development which closely aligns with the WILDTEAM’S focus on conservation. The degree has equipped me with a strong understanding in ecological principles, environmental policy and sustainable practices. It has also equipped me with knowledge and skills necessary for protecting and restoring nature, encouraging a harmonious interaction between human beings and the environment.                       I joined WildHub because I have a particular interest in project management, particularly in how it can be applied in conservation initiatives. Project management is crucial for successfully implementing conservation projects, from planning and execution to monitoring and evaluation. I’m excited about the opportunity to leverage my skills in project management to drive impactful conservation efforts.  Some of my experience in conservation in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya lies in: •Lion tracking •Monitoring grass species composition and biomass status.        •Monitoring population structure of threatened herbivore species, specifically the Grevy's zebra and Beisa oryx.  •Monitoring population dynamics of select predators particularly the cheetah, lions and hyenas.      •Mapping active and old abandoned cattle bomas around the conservancy. I am keen to apply project management principles to streamline processes, manage resources efficiently, and achieve measurable outcomes in conservation projects. By integrating my passion for environmental sustainability with my project management skills, I aim to contribute to creating and executing effective conservation strategies that benefit both the environment and the communities involved.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

I have just completed my bachelors degree of Geographical Sciences from Makerere University Kampala, Uganda with a second class upper honors (CGPA 4.17). I specialized in physical geography with key modules of Geographical Information Systems (GIS)/Remote sensing, Environmental disaster management, Geomorphology, ecosystems science and Earth Sciences. My research dissertation was titled "Analyzing the implications of wetland degradation on livelihoods in the river Rwizi middle catchment area, South Western Uganda". I am interested in advancing my academics by doing a masters in Environment management field and further to a PhD.  I have also just founded a non-government organization called Green-nut Foundation which is aimed at contributing to efforts in environmental restoration and conservation. It has been certified to commence its activities in April 2024.
