About Ann Kuria

I am I am Ann Kuria, a degree degree graduate in Environmental Studies & Community development which closely aligns with the WILDTEAM’S focus on conservation. The degree has equipped me with a strong understanding in ecological principles, environmental policy and sustainable practices. It has also equipped me with knowledge and skills necessary for protecting and restoring nature, encouraging a harmonious interaction between human beings and the environment.

I joined WildHub because I have a particular interest in project management, particularly in how it can be applied in conservation initiatives. Project management is crucial for successfully implementing conservation projects, from planning and execution to monitoring and evaluation. I’m excited about the opportunity to leverage my skills in project management to drive impactful conservation efforts.  Some of my experience in conservation in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya lies in:

•Lion tracking

•Monitoring grass species composition and biomass status.

•Monitoring population structure of threatened herbivore species, specifically the Grevy's zebra and Beisa oryx.

•Monitoring population dynamics of select predators particularly the cheetah, lions and hyenas.

•Mapping active and old abandoned cattle bomas around the conservancy.

I am keen to apply project management principles to streamline processes, manage resources efficiently, and achieve measurable outcomes in conservation projects. By integrating my passion for environmental sustainability with my project management skills, I aim to contribute to creating and executing effective conservation strategies that benefit both the environment and the communities involved.
