About Namrata
I am a conservation researcher. I have delved into many aspects of conservation in my career, from rehabilitation, release and reintroductions and now researching biodiversity in unprotected areas of Borneo. My work has been focused in Indonesia and tropical systems. I began research in behavioural ecology of slow lorises in Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan. My interests in the inter-relatedness of an organism to its habitat/the ecosystem, has motivated me to conduct research at a broader scale moving from a species focused perspective. I am currently involved with the Defaunation Hub, DICE, University of Kent, and hope to start my PhD research on defaunation trends in three distinct habitat types in Central Kalimantan, Borneo.
