About Emily Cunningham

I lead the Local Government Association's Coastal Special Interest Group and I am proud to be a Trustee of the UK's Marine Conservation Society, co-author of the model #Motion4theOcean Ocean Recovery declaration for local authorities and winner of a national Rising Star Award for my work for England's coast and its communities.

I have a strong track-record in the development of pioneering projects that work towards better access to, and stewardship of, our ocean. To date, I have secured over £5.6m in funding for inclusive conservation and engagement projects. For this work, I was named as a global "30 under 30" for environmental education in 2020.
