I am currently working as an ecological consultant for a company that specialises in sports facilities. My job mainly involves visiting golf courses and writing management plans on how they can improve the course for ecology and the wider environment. Outside of work I enjoy birdwatching, wildlife photography and moth trapping. I also volunteer at my local nature reserve and am part of our local Plastic Free Community group.
I'm a Conservation biologist holding 6 years of both experience at site and regional level (Congo basin) working with Conservation NGO. With good knowledge in Law Enforcement, Ecological Monitoring and Community Based Natural Resources Management for protected area management.
I am a bat researcher, since 2012. Currently a student of doctoral studies on the genetics of bat's ectoparasites. I prefer fieldwork over office time :). Love hiking, caving, sports, and outdoors.
My name is Louise and I am currently working as a Programme Officer for the IUCN Amphibian Red List Authority, leading on the update for all Old World amphibian assessments. For over six years, I have been working with researchers all over the world collating information about amphibians to assess extinction risk, providing training and technical support to our international network as needed. I have a MSc in Conservation and Biodiversity, and prior to my current job I was a zoo keeper primarily working with birds.
I love paddle boarding, sea swimming, walking the coast path, photography and travelling, as well as all things conservation and wildlife related. I also volunteer for the Plastic Free group where I live in Cornwall, which works with different people and groups (individuals, businesses, schools and organisations) within our community to reduce single use plastic in our everyday lives through education, beach cleans and community events, among other activities.
