Hello from Scotland's 'Cumbernauld Living Landscape'
Hi, my name's Jenn and I'm the Cumbernauld Living Landscape Project Manager. I lead a team working to improve Cumbernauld's native habitats, boosting native species numbers and the area's climate resilience. We also work to strengthen ties between the local people and their natural environment.
My background is in Sustainable Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment, and before managing the Cumbernauld Living Landscape, I've worked to protect local biodiversity sites from development, as well as on developing monitors to study the health of the local environment; from air, water and chemical pollution, to mentoring university students to modify camera traps to study urban bumblebees. I'm also a wildlife and nature artist, exhibiting five of my works as part of a joint exhibition in 2020 (which can be viewed at www.valkara-art.com). The picture above is part of an artwork called 'Awakening' and is from my digital art series: Beneath the Aurora. I look forward to meeting you all soon!
