Zoological Facility Leader | Wildlife Conservation & Animal Welfare Specialist | Facility Operational Management |, Confidential organization
As an Animal specialist Manager with experience in wildlife care and conservation, I am passionate about enhancing our efforts to protect and preserve animal species. I recognize the importance of effective project management and in conservation initiatives and am eager to expand my knowledge in this area. By collaborating with experts from various fields, I aim to implement innovative strategies that will further our mission of wildlife preservation and habitat sustainability. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on our planet's biodiversity.
I am a marine ecologist (BSc, MSc) who specialises in non-invasive research to promote the recovery of marine megafauna species (think mammals, sharks, and stingrays).
I have just submitted my doctoral thesis (September 2023) to the University of Lisbon (FCUL), where my PhD research focused on identifying conservation priorities of marine top predators in oceanic islands to help inform spatial management and planning. In the context of academia, I am particularly interested in endangered species research by use of telemetry, environmental modelling, and non-invasive technologies. I am now moving into a marine management role taking me from research into conservation science and practice of marine mammals, sharks and rays of the Red Sea.
