My background is mainly in Marketing and Communications. I work with a wonderful conservation organisation called Painted Dog Conservation based out in Zimbabwe just outside the country's biggest national park, the Hwange National Park. The organisation is doing the most in trying to bring back the endangered painted dog (aka African Wild Dog) from the brink of extinction. I work closely with most of our stakeholders from the local community to our international supporters with an aim to establish a seamless relationship between all those involved in saving the beautiful painted dog. I'm not an expert in the following but I work closely and alongside with people responsible (and sometimes participate in):
Species Management
Anti-Poaching
Research (tracking and monitoring of painted dogs)
Education
Community Engagement
Arts and Conservation
Indoor or outdoor, as long as I'm working for nature I'm happy! I currently work as a Programs Coordinator with The Thin Green Line Foundation, drawing on my past experiences working in the field to help Rangers globally. Our work focusses on providing Training, Equipment, Emergency Aid and Networking Opportunities for the people working on the frontlines of conservation. As a former Ranger myself, I adore being outside and connecting others with nature. Personally, I have interests in community development and capacity building, the interface between conservation science and environmental policy, and rewilding! I'm a keen birder and hill-walker, currently exploring Victoria, Australia.
