About Reza Dwi Kurniawan
Reza is a passionate conservationist and anthropologist born and raised in small town in East java, Indonesia, and has over a decade of experience in wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and release in Indonesia. He has managed rescue centers across Kalimantan, Java, and Sumatra. With a strong background in both hands-on wildlife care and conservation management, he ensures that rescued animals get the best possible chance to return to the wild. His anthropology background helps him connect with local people, understand their perspectives, and find solutions that balance conservation efforts with community needs. Through outreach, education, and advocacy, he works to create long-term harmony between humans and wildlife. As a Coordinator of the AfA Sanctuaries and Rescue Centers Coalition (SARCC), Reza supports the work of SARCC and is establishig an network of rescue centers in Indonesia. By joining AfA, Reza hopes that the future of rescue centers in Indonesia and across Asia will improve in terms of both animal welfare and staff well-being.
