Ricardo Lemos de Figueiredo
Lecturer and Conservation Project Manager, Bristol Zoological Society
I am an applied animal behaviourist interested in animal welfare and ex situ conservation. I have years of experience within the zoo industry, and I am interested in advancing the role of zoos in conservation, research and education.
I am a skilled team player, with a vested interest in conservation and improving livelihoods in communities living with wildlife. Monitoring mammalian diversity has been my go-to task for quite some time and I have incorporated technologies like Nano sequencing in taxonomy work. In arid areas, I assist in land restoration through construction of semicircular bunds and other restoration techniques
