Project Coordinator, Association for the protection of great apes

Expertise; I have BSc in Environmental science and MSc in project management Experience; I have been involved wildlife conservation for over 15 year and currently coordinating Association for the protection of great apes – a wildlife conservation and development non-governmental organization in the east region of Cameroon. Interest; I’m quite interested in developing new skills to improve my project management capacity including successfully planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting projects especially as I’m about to launch and implement a new 5 year project in this area. I’m also interested in climate change – developing skills and knowledge on the best practices to reduce deforestation at the local level.

Partnership Officer - Better Biodiversity Data project, National Biodiversity Network Trust

I now work for the National Biodiversity Network Trust as Partnership Officer on the Better Biodiversity Data project, which aims to improve infrastructure and access to biodiversity data in Scotland.  I recently worked with WildTeam UK engaging conservationists with its training and resources, and supported WildTeam Bangladesh in their work on the conservation of the Sundarbans mangrove forest and Bengal tigers. I have previously co-ordinated conservation research for a UK-based woodland charity, completed a PhD on phenology in plants and trees that involved a lot of citizen science, and have done many short-term research and conservation jobs over the years.

Student, Project management for wildlife conservation

Hi! I'm currently in my third year of my BSc in International Wildlife Biology! My focus is heavily on conservation of big cats, mainly African Lions. My current dissertation is centred around the cause for sociality in the African Lion which includes looking into evolutionary, environmental and cooperative factors of the species! In September 2022 I will be beginning my MSc in Endangered Species Recovery and Conservation and I am so excited! I am hoping (fingers crossed!) that I will be able to conduct my own behaviour studies in both wild and captive environments in order to be able to suggest improvements in big cat welfare in our UK zoos. I have always loved zoos but seeing a lion in a zoo and then seeing one in wildlife sanctuary in Namibia in 2019 was a completely different experience. This made me question whether our zoos could be improved to bring some of their more natural behaviours back.
