I'm a biodiversity consultant working mainly in the corporate space. I work with large companies to help them figure out their nature-related impacts, dependancies, risks and opportunities, then use this information to create biodiversity strategies.
Hello! I've joined WildHub as I'm enrolled in the Project Management for Wildlife Conservation training course (Mar-Apr 2022). A brief bio on me is below:
Caitlin is a Canadian who moved to the UK in 2013, immediately following her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, to complete her Masters in Biodiversity, Conservation & Management at the University of Oxford. She has since worked in a variety of supply chains – firstly working with one of her Oxford professors to conceptualise an app connecting timber suppliers to consumers, then moving into the private sector in the food industry, managing projects to improve fisheries sustainability and human rights in international supply chains. Throughout her career, she’s become familiar with various sustainability and ethical standards, as well as market-based mechanisms to drive sustainability and wildlife conservation.
Below is more information about the project I'm currently managing:
'Wild at Home - Using markets for wild ingredients to support conservation and rural livelihoods' is a TRAFFIC project that aims to inspire and support corporate and consumer action to improve sustainability and human rights in the supply chains of wild-harvested plant ingredients. This will be partly through promotion of the FairWild standard (see https://www.fairwild.org/), but also by more widely engaging with consumers and businesses through an information platform (‘WildCheck’), which will be promoted to consumers through partners (e.g. botanical gardens), and to businesses via strategic partnerships with relevant industry associations.
Hi my name is Magdalena Erich, I am a biologist and I work for WWF Austria as a project coordinator. Currently I am working in the LIFE project EuroLargeCarnivores, an EU project with 16 partners, which aims at coexistence with large carnivores. My passion belongs to large carnivores, especially wolves. I have also worked in LC monitoring projects in Canada and Romania. I love to be out in the mountains and forests with my dog.
