The Conservation & Communities Fellowship is a unique seven-month programme launching in November 2025, designed for grassroots and community-based conservation leaders from the Global South. It is a hybrid learning journey, offered free of charge and co-developed with Common Purpose and The Human Edge. The CCF encompasses mentorship, leadership development, technical capacity-building, and critical dialogue. Fellows explore new ways to lead and grow, while strengthening their organisational impact and accessing new opportunities for fundraising, peer support, and long-term collaboration.

Who can apply?

Leaders of grassroots or local civil society organisations in the Global South working at the intersection of biodiversity conservation and community livelihoods, who are motivated to deepen their leadership and grow their organisation's capacity.

What does the CCF offer?

  • Leadership development;
  • Mentorship skills-building;
  • Technical training in project design, fundraising, and organisational development;
  • Reflection and dialogue about contemporary issues in conservation;
  • Peer learning led by CCF alumni and the GDF team;
  • An in-person convening at the start of the fellowship in Kenya in November 2025.

Key dates:

  • Deadline to apply: 13 June 2025, midnight BST

  • Programme starts: 11 November 2025
