I'm Emily, an Island Biodiversity and Conservation MSc student at the University of Exeter. I'm currently based on the Channel Island of Jersey and am writing my thesis on sea temperature change impacts on commercially valuable crustacean species.
I seemed to have found this community at the perfect time, I'm nearing the end of my current studies (just my thesis to go!) and beginning to look for jobs in conservation. So far, it's been quite an eye opening experience as I am leaving education for the first time but I'm looking forward to the challenge and hopeful that this community will be supportive and encouraging. I've got a lot to learn, and a little knowledge to share - I can't wait to network!

Hi @Emily Wagdin and welcome to the platform! I find crustaceans fascinating especially moving forward with the new sentient bill. Good luck with your thesis and feel free to check out our monthly socials here where you can meet other members on the platform!
Thank you! Crustaceans are very interesting creatures, especially in relation to temperature. I'll definitely check out those socials!
Yes definitely. We did a module at uni on plasticity which I find really interesting and how the same species have different phenotypes depending on their location within their temperature range. Amazing hopefully you will be able to make one!
Welcome to WildHub, @Emily Wagdin!
Welcome to the WildHub community Emily! You'll find that this is a great place to network. Looking forward to meeting you at one of the next socials!
