Hi, I am Rebekka
I was born and raised in Switzerland and spent 39 years living what many would call a typical, privileged life – a successful career, financial stability, and plenty of comfort. But a few years ago, I realised that despite having everything I was “supposed” to want, I wasn’t truly happy. I was missing a sense of purpose and a life that aligned with my heart.
Nature and safaris had always been close to my heart, so I took a leap of faith: I left everything behind and enrolled in a professional field guide course in South Africa, with placements in Botswana and Zambia. I worked in conservation education, community engagement, and research – and loved every moment. When the course ended, I knew I couldn’t return to my old life. I had found my purpose, my place, and the love of my life.
Soon after, I came across an opportunity at Sensing Clues, and after speaking with Jan-Kees, I realised it was the perfect bridge between my past experience and future aspirations. I now work part-time as an Impact Facilitator, managing marketing, communications, community engagement, and partnerships. I also co-manage Kusasa, a donor lodge run by the Wild Tomorrow Fund in the beautiful Greater Ukuwela Nature Reserve, KwaZulu-Natal – where I now live.
I joined WildHub because I believe in the power of collaboration. At Sensing Clues, we partner with passionate individuals around the world to co-create volunteer-driven conservation solutions. I’m here to connect, exchange knowledge, and share opportunities – including free online events we’ll soon be launching. I also hope to share the practical knowledge and insights I gained in the bush while training and working as a guide. My goal is to build meaningful partnerships that amplify our collective impact.
I’m always looking to grow, explore new ideas, and keep learning. True to my motto – "Driven by purpose, guided by heart" – I believe a meaningful life starts with passion, purpose, and connection.
