Dear Wildhub community members

My name is Sandra Ayiorwoth. I am a Conservation Technologist with experience in GIS and Information Management currently supporting wildlife monitoring, habitat restoration and law enforcement in three conservation areas in Uganda; Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, Kidepo Valley Conservation Areas. I was born in the North Western Ugandan district of Zombo, where I was surrounded by the natural beauty of the various ecosystems in the area. I also formed a strong connection with the natural world and saw firsthand the dangers that the environment faces.

I obtained a thorough understanding of environmental issues, conservation strategies and sustainable practices during my education in Environmental Science Technology and Management and Project Planning and Management. This has equipped me to make significant contributions to the field of conservation technology. I'm happy to be here and hope to make great connections.

Hi Sandra! Welcome to the Wildhub community. Uganda is so beautiful. Is the biodiversity across Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, and Kidepo Valley Conservation Areas distinct from one another, or would you say it is generally similar?

Oh, yes. Thankyou. The biodiversity across the three parks is quite distinct with Murchison Falls NP being home to more mammal species, Queen Elizabeth- more bird species and Kidepo Valley NP ranking among Africa's finest wildernesses. The similarity with all is they're open savannah grasslands with a variety of carnivores, herbivores and critically endangered species which are on IUCN's red list of threatened species.
