The Mammal Society's Annual Conference is fast approaching! But don't worry - there's still time to book your tickets today!

The conference takes place from the 4th to the 6th of August and will be held in Nottingham at Nottingham Trent University's Brackenhurst Campus, with the support of our Headline Sponsor RSK Biocensus. This year's theme is The Future of Conservation, and you can still get your tickets here. There’s an amazing line-up of keynote speakers, research presentations, workshops and demonstrations, plus an exhibition of the winners and highly commended photos from Mammal Photographer Of the Year 2023 – all set in the beautiful grounds of Nottingham Trent University’s leafy Brackenhurst campus. From academics, consultants and conservation professionals to environmental campaigners, grassroots nature activists and recent life science graduates exploring career pathways in conservation, there’s something for everyone.

We have a host of interesting talks, workshops and field visits on all things mammals - with sessions on different innovative methods of monitoring mammals and lectures on environmental and habitat influences on mammals. Hear from industry experts and keynote speakers about reintroduction programmes, as well as a talk from the committee of the People's Plan for Nature. Our Chair Dr. Stephanie Wray will be presenting the Friday Night Lecture on 'The Future of Nature Conservation'. View the official conference programme here.

This is the first year we are offering free children's workshops for young people aged 7 to 17 on the Saturday during the conference - so while you engage with fascinating presentations and workshops, they can be absorbed in forest school, craft activities or (for the older children) animal care workshops.

Thanks for sharing, Emily! It sounds like a great opportunity, and I wish I could go. Unfortunately, the timing doesn't work out this year...there's always another year! That's why I'm a fan of events that happen annually :)
