Hi everyone! I’m Natalie Kasera. I’m a science graduate and currently working as an executive Assistant at Athena, a role that’s sharpened my skills in systems thinking, communication, and coordination, skills I’m excited to now apply toward conservation impact.

My passion for animals began early, on my grandfather’s farm, where I spent my childhood caring for goats and cows and falling in love with the rhythms of life around them. That connection to animals only deepened as I volunteered with KSPCA, treating rescued dogs and educating young people on animal welfare, and later, as part of WildNow Foundation, where I helped organize mobile veterinary clinics for pastoralist communities in Kenya.

I’ve joined this course to strengthen my ability to plan and implement wildlife conservation projects, especially those that combine veterinary care, community engagement, and habitat protection. Kenya’s wildlife heritage means a lot to me, and I hope to play a role in its protection, especially by bridging the gap between local knowledge and structured project planning.

Outside of work, I love discovering new hiking spots, exploring local art, and curling up with a good wildlife documentary.

Here’s a recent video that inspired me, a beautiful look at Kenya’s efforts to protect elephants and their habitats:

Looking forward to learning alongside you all! 🌍🐘
