Last week, the IUCN Guidebook for Assessing and Improving Social Equity in Marine Conservation was launched 📘🌊 - a new resource designed to help practitioners, policymakers, and researchers understand, measure, and strengthen fairness and inclusion in marine conservation efforts.

Explore or download it here: 🔗 https://portals.iucn.org/library/node/52587

The guidebook was co-led by @Mark Andrachuk and Nathan Bennett, with support from WWF, WWF Science, the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), Conservation International, Wildlife Conservation Society, and the Blue Nature Alliance.

The work also reflects the expertise and collaboration of an exceptional team of co-authors: Jessica Blythe, Joachim Claudet, Neil Dawson, Elena Finkbeiner, Juno Fitzpatrick, Phil Franks, David A. Gill, Georgina G. Gurney, Timur Jack-Kadıoğlu, Stacy Jupiter, Jacqueline Lau, Priscila F. M. Lopes, Shauna L. Mahajan, Ella-Kari Muhl, Josheena Naggea, Katina Roumbedakis, Samiya Selim, Gerald G. Singh, Mia Strand, Kira Sullivan-Wiley and Sebastian Villasante.

Equity and inclusion are central to effective and lasting conservation outcomes. This guidebook provides a foundation for understanding, measuring, and advancing fairness in how we govern and manage marine resources.” says Mark Andrachuk.
