But as you've highlighted, it’s the lived experiences, the setbacks, breakthroughs, and unwavering commitment that truly inspire and create connection.
I love how Ubuntu Magazine invites contributions from every corner of the conservation world, from grassroots advocates to scientists in the field. It opens space for authentic storytelling and celebrates the diversity of work that sustains both people and the planet.

Good question! 🌍 There are honestly so many stories that have stayed with me and shifted how I see conservation.
From our chat with Vladimir Dobrev about transborder conservation of the Egyptian vultures, to Weston Boyles and Ríos to Rivers, connecting communities through shared watersheds. I’ve also loved learning how WildEntrust uses artificial scents to help protect African wild dogs – such an unexpected and brilliant approach.
And of course, the art! Projects like The Herds and Under the Skin always remind me that you don’t have to be a biologist or ecologist to make a real impact. Creativity can be just as powerful as science when it comes to inspiring change.
