Creative Director of Adopt a Dolphin & Outreach, Sea Watch Foundation

I run our fundraising scheme and outreach project, Adopt a Dolphin for children and young people. We visit schools and groups with materials that I have developed and I am currently creating our very first ecourse. Whilst running the scheme, I wrote a children's book, The Magic Dolphin and a subsequent colouring-in story book, Dolphin Doodling, both of which are used within schools.  Every month I produce an 8-10 page newsletter, Newsplash which is full of educational content, competitions, national and international marine news, fun features and more.

Final year Marine Biology with Biodiversity and Conservation student in Cambridge. Very interested in the management, conservation and processes regarding tropical marine and coastal ecosystems, including coral reefs and associated organisms, and mangrove forests. Looking forward to start a career in conservation of tropical ecosystems, either land or marine, after completion of my degree in May.

Student, Graduate Research Associate, Colorado State University, Salazar Center for North American Conservation

I am a current graduate student at Colorado State University, studying to earn my Masters in Conservation Leadership Through Learning. I have a BS in Biology- Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation from the University of Washington. I currently work with the Salazar Center for North American Conservation as a graduate research associate. Prior to graduate school I worked as a naturalist and educator at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies to provide environmental education to individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds. I have conducted research in forestry, marine settings, and sustainable food purchasing. I am involved with 350 Colorado as an intern and serving on the northern Colorado Leadership Council, to support efforts of reducing our fossil fuel consumption. I am passionate about landscape level conservation and hope to solve future environmental problems related to preserving large areas of land while maintaining human livelihoods. I am particularly interested in the intersectionality of policy, environmental science, and the social sciences. I believe conservation cannot happen without deep consideration of human needs and livelihoods, and that the path forward involves widespread collaboration.

Student, Colorado State University

Hello my names is Jeremiah Gorske, I am a veteran of the U.S. Army and an alum of Penn State university. I am passionate about the outdoors and the connection time spent outdoors has with health. I spend much of my time hiking and fly fishing with my dogs. I am fascinated by regenerative agriculture and agroecology. I enjoy studying the ways we may integrate our food systems into an holistic earth care ethic. I am currently a graduate student at Colorado State University in the Masters of Conservation Leadership program.

I'm an early career conservation ecologist, with field work and research experience focusing on sea turtles (mainly loggerheads)! I am a SUNY Geneseo and QMUL alumnus, and am currently working as a long-term French substitute in my former middle school. Currently, I am actively pursuing a job in ecology, ideally one that includes both field work and research.

Trustee, Shark Guardian

I graduated in 2010 with a BSc Zoology and have since gained extensive experience across the field of environmental education and volunteer management.  I have worked within zoos in the UK and abroad on programmes managing a variety of volunteer projects with a focus on coastal and marine conservation. I am a Trustee for UK registered charity, Shark Guardian, and help lead on a number of policy and behavioural change campaigns, partnerships and educational projects. I am a keen scuba diver and have trained up to become a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and love to introduce divers to the world of citizen science - that all of us can get involved in protecting our natural world.  I enjoy exploring our beautiful underwater world, abroad and here in the UK.
Caitlin

Student, Project management for wildlife conservation

Hi! I'm currently in my third year of my BSc in International Wildlife Biology! My focus is heavily on conservation of big cats, mainly African Lions. My current dissertation is centred around the cause for sociality in the African Lion which includes looking into evolutionary, environmental and cooperative factors of the species! In September 2022 I will be beginning my MSc in Endangered Species Recovery and Conservation and I am so excited! I am hoping (fingers crossed!) that I will be able to conduct my own behaviour studies in both wild and captive environments in order to be able to suggest improvements in big cat welfare in our UK zoos. I have always loved zoos but seeing a lion in a zoo and then seeing one in wildlife sanctuary in Namibia in 2019 was a completely different experience. This made me question whether our zoos could be improved to bring some of their more natural behaviours back.
Zoe Walker

Director, Conservation Planning Unit, Wildtracks

I've lived and worked in conservation in Belize for more than 30 years...and love it! I work with both government, non-government agencies and communities towards strengthening the national protected areas system and species conservation frameworks - lots of landscape and seascape planning, protected area management planning, national biodiversity and species conservation planning, and (in all my spare time) addressing wildlife crime. My work provides excellent opportunities to explore iconic protected areas across this amazing country - places like the Blue Hole (known globally as a 'must-do' dive site) and Cockscomb Basin (protected for its high jaguar density) and to work with the inspiring management NGOs and local communities that protect areas such as these to improve their conservation outcomes. To make life even more interesting our organization, Wildtracks, also manages Belize's national manatee and primate rehabilitation centers, as part of our species conservation portfolio. We are excited to be establishing a new programme in 2022 focused on capacity building and mentoring for the Belize conservation community in response to the limited number of in-country conservation practitioners, with skills transfer to the incoming generation of conservation leaders. It is always inspiring to meet others who are as excited and motivated by conservation and conservation planning as I am...looking forward to being an active member of WildHub!

Children's Book Author, Hayley Rocco Books

I'm a children's book author with a focus on creating books that ignite passion and curiosity for wildlife and wild places in young readers. "If we care about animals, we'll want to protect them." I'm looking to connect with professionals who are studying and/or are actively helping in advancing wildlife conservation efforts in general. I am also a beginning nature photographer with a passion for capturing the unique personalities of each animal I see. (That's the goal, anyhow!) I've had a lifelong passion for animals and want to learn all I can and share what I can with young readers, hopefully inspiring the next wave of conservationists, naturalists, scientists, etc.!
