About Brooklynne
Hello! My name is Brooklynne Mitchell-Arno and I am currently a staff assistant at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in Grafton, Massachusetts.
In 2023 I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in animal science and a degree in conservation journalism. At university I also worked with iCons, an integrated concentration program that prepares students for careers in STEM. In this position, I worked as a journalist, and one of my published works can be found here.
After graduation, for six months, I was fortunate to live in Costa Rica and intern at the Toucan Rescue Ranch, a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center located outside San Jose. In this position, I worked with a variety of species, but most of my work involved the care and rehabilitation of infant and juvenile sloths (Choloepus hoffmanni).
Upon returning to the United States, in addition to my position at Tufts, I also write articles for the New England Primate Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that strives to make the complex science behind primate protection and wildlife conservation more accessible!
