Ellen Brown (She/Her)

Science Writer/Conservation Artist, Self Employed

About Ellen Brown

I’m a science/nature writer, artist, and founder of the upcoming website NatureWriting.org, a platform dedicated to providing tools and inspiration for writing about the natural world. My visual art—primarily bird portraits in colored pencil—aims to evoke a deeper emotional connection to nature, with the goal of raising funds and visibility for conservation efforts. I’m eager to connect with fellow conservation professionals, contribute to creative solutions, and use storytelling and art to support meaningful change for wildlife and wild places. I have a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Minnesota and an MS in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins University, and have worked as a freelance writer and editor for the past 15 years.
