am Iman Ebrahimi, a conservationist and the founder and CEO of AvayeBoom Bird Conservation Society, the first bird conservation NGO in central Iran. Over the past decade, I have led various projects focusing on bird conservation, wetland restoration, and community engagement. My interests include wetland and waterbird conservation, migratory bird monitoring, and engaging local communities in environmental stewardship.
Through AvayeBoom, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with over 310 volunteers and conducting educational programs for thousands of people. I’m passionate about building partnerships, sharing knowledge, and learning from the global conservation community to protect biodiversity for future generations.

I am a consultant supporting various conservation and development initiatives. For the majority of my time, I lead the human-wildlife conflict and coexistence work for the Global Wildlife Program, funded by the Global Environment Facility and led by the World Bank. I am also supporting the SMART Partnership with an analysis of human-wildlife conflict data. I am also a passionate and avid SCUBA diver, coral restoration volunteer, and fundraiser aiming to advance equity in ocean conservation through local, hands-on, in-the-water work. I am a professor at the State University of Santa Cruz - Bahia - Brazil. As a veterinarian I work in the health context and lately I have admired the area of Unique Health, Ecosystem Health and Conservation Medicine. I am currently involved in research related to zoonotic diseases, including arboviruses, and also research in the area of animal welfare, biosafety and anesthesiology. In 2018, we founded the Wild Animal Care and Research Center (NAPAS), linked to the Veterinary Hospital of the University. In this space we are responsible for improving and maintaining the health status of wild animals in the southern region of the state of Bahia. We have a team made up of undergraduate and graduate students, in addition to specialists from the most varied areas of Veterinary Medicine.
I am a conservation enthusiast with a bias for wildlife fauna. I intend to specialize in project management. I am also looking for more opportunities in conservation all over the world, especially in the UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Namibia, and Tanzania.
With a master degree in Protected Areas Management, I am working in the wildlife conservation unit as part of my role at APASAT NGO. My role focus on data collection on wildlife, field assessments, human wildlife coexistence and local community’s engagement in conservation efforts. This includes project management, proposal writing for funding and team supervision. I am currently leading a project on Human-Wildlife Coexistence, specifically addressing coexistence challenges between communities and the Critically Endangered Red-bellied Monkey (Cercopithecus erythrogaster erythrogaster) in the Biosphere Reserve of Ouémé. I am leading the team to conduct primate population monitoring, assess the interactions between local populations and primates, undertake coexistence strategies through environmental education, alternative livelihoods, and non-lethal deterrents and enhance community involvement in conservation approaches.
I have 10 years of experience in animal welfare and conservation ranging from project management, work plans, and managing implementation partners to fundraising, strategic partnerships and communications. I'm also a registered veterinary nurse with knowledge and experience in zoonotic disease/one health.
I've done work in Zambia, Africa as well as on many elephant conservation campaigns.
My special interests are community conservation, counter wildlife trafficking, poaching , human-wildlife conflict, wildlife protection and behavior change.

About Me
Hello everyone! I’m Dr Gilles Rolin Ananfack Kenfack, a passionate environmental advocate from Cameroon, dedicated to the sustainable management of our natural resources and the conservation of biodiversity. I hold a PhD in Integrated Management of Forest and Agroforestry Resources from the University of Dschang, where I also completed my Master’s in Natural Resource Management and Agroforestry. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, which laid the groundwork for my analytical approach to environmental issues.
My Expertise
With extensive experience in project management and community-driven initiatives, I specialize in integrated resource management, biodiversity conservation, and the restoration of degraded landscapes. As the founder and president of the Cameroonian Association for the Promotion of Bamboo, Environmental Protection, Nature Conservation, and Local Development (BambouCamer), I focus on promoting bamboo as a sustainable resource that can drive local development and enhance environmental conservation.
My role as Director of Programs at the Community Association for Sustainable Development (CASuDev) involves coordinating various conservation and restoration projects, including efforts to protect the forest elephant population in the Campo Ma’an National Park and restoring degraded landscapes in Babadjou.
I am also skilled in community mobilization, capacity building, technical report writing, and social and environmental impact assessments. Throughout my career, I have successfully collaborated with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities to create sustainable and equitable solutions to pressing environmental challenges.
My Interests
I am particularly interested in agroforestry, the application of agroecological practices, and leveraging the potential of bamboo for environmental and economic sustainability. I am committed to advancing environmental sustainability and empowering communities, ensuring that development initiatives are both ecologically sound and socially just.
