Wildlife Veterinarian, Independent contractor

I am a wildlife veterinarian specializing in great apes and monkeys but I also enjoy working with elephants, cobras and a variety of other endangered species. I traveled regularly between rescue and rehabilitation centers in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the United States. I mentor new veterinarians and teach at St. George's University of Veterinary Medicine in the Caribbean. I have a Masters in Veterinary Epidemiology from University College London with my thesis being done with ZSL regarding the endangered red squirrels of Great Britain.

Currently employed in Conservation Administration and looking to process into a more field delivery type role post recovery from a long term health condition which previously restricted my ability to work practically. Events Officer, Il-Majjistral Nature and History Park

Hi! I currently live in Malta but lived in London for 11 years where I did a Postgraduate degree in Protected Area & Conservation Management at Birkbeck University. I volunteered for a number of eNGOs there but mainly worked in admin jobs for various organisations. I returned to Malta 3 years ago and now work in Malta's largest protected area - Majjistral Park - as an Events Officer. I used to lead guided walks and organise other activities in the Park before Covid but now run regular online talks about environmental topics, online activities for kids and coordinate our volunteers.  I would like to work in a more conservation based role but am still looking for an opportunity to move into this. I am hoping this course will give me the ability to stand out with a valuable skill. My general interests are nature (of course!), environmental conservation, hiking, reading, nature-based art, upcycling and yoga.
