My name is Adekanle Godslove and I am based in Nigeria I work for Centre for Ecological and Community Development as a project officer and I have been opportune to work with several organization like IFAD and Federal ministry of environment here in Nigeria as an eco analyst. I am passionate about nature conservation and I involve adequately in environmental advocacy.

I'm working at an NGO in northeastern Brazil that develops projects for the conservation of endangered species. My name is Valeria and I am the Media and Women Empowerment Manager at conservation non-profit Transfrontier Africa NPC. We are based in Olifants West Nature Reserve, Greater Kruger in South Africa. Everything that we do for conservation on our beautiful country is based on 5 strong pillars: 1. Research 2. Wildlife Management 3. Wildlife Security and Anti-Poaching 4. Women Empowerment and Community Integration 5. Environmental Education and Awareness I am super proud of being part of our team. My core responsibilities are: media relations, social media management, events (conferences, talks, presentations), fundrasing, funders relations and women empowerment and upliftment. The latter is my recent domain that I am extremely interested in and inspired to work on, and  that in fact pushed me towards the course in Project  Management as I realised I need to structure multiple projects within the Women Empowerment programme to coordinate them better and manage them.

I'm a primatologist and nonprofit leader with 15+ years experience in international wildlife conservation, mainly in Africa but most recently in Costa Rica. My superpower is building up grassroots efforts in order to effect positive change that benefits both endangered species and people. I'm passionate about working across cultures and empowering people of all ages to act for conservation. I was the first Executive Director for the Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education (GRACE) Center, an award-winning organization conserving Critically Endangered Grauer's gorillas in Democratic Republic of Congo. I have conducted field research on wild chimpanzees in Uganda and orangutans in Borneo and have a Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology from Harvard University. I currently live in Maine, USA, where I enjoy birding and hiking with my family.

With training in wildlife conservation and community development, my expertise lies in community engagement works for conservation initiatives. I am interested in promoting community-based natural resources management (CBNRM) initiatives that address both environmental and socio-economic goals in communities that live close to protected areas and in connectivity pathways for long-ranged wild animals, with full participation of the resource custodians and users. I am an experienced social-ecologist with 15 years of grounded experience in CBNRM-related work focusing on human-wildlife conflict management, establishing and empowering community-based organizations, and promotion of sustainable livelihoods projects in the Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia (ZiMoZa) transboundary region, the South East Lowveld region of Zimbabwe, the Hwange Matetsi Zambezi ecosystem found in Kavango Zambezi (KAZA) TFCA and the Malawi – Zambia (MAZA) TFCA. 

I am a third-year student at African Leadership University pursuing a Bachelor of Global Challenges degree, graduating in June 2024. I'm passionate about working in the environmental and wildlife conservation industry to use skills gained from my tertiary education and make a difference as a research professional. I previously worked as a research intern on Land use activities at ALU School of wildlife conservation.
