I am interested in promoting community-based natural resources management (CBNRM) initiatives that address both environmental and socio-economic goals in communities that live close to protected areas and in connectivity pathways for long-ranged wild animals, with full participation of the resource custodians and users.
I am an experienced social-ecologist with 15 years of grounded experience in CBNRM-related work focusing on human-wildlife conflict management, establishing and empowering community-based organizations, and promotion of sustainable livelihoods projects in the Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia (ZiMoZa) transboundary region, the South East Lowveld region of Zimbabwe, the Hwange Matetsi Zambezi ecosystem found in Kavango Zambezi (KAZA) TFCA and the Malawi – Zambia (MAZA) TFCA.
