Minor Milestone Research Leopard monitoring Leopard surveys 2025 Complete census of leopards Task Research Leopard monitoring Leopard surveys 2025 Review methodology Task Research Leopard monitoring Leopard surveys 2025 Identify survey sites

Minor Milestone: Identify equipment/ technology required to collect data (SMART, Earth ranger)

Task 1: Procure required equipment

Task 2: Conduct training for equipment/app use

I like your second task of including training on how to conduct the surveys and enter data!

Here is my example for the tracker, however I was a bit confused while doing it because research and monitoring could be done together, but anyways here is my attempt. Thank you

Here are my examples:

Minor Milestone: Baseline Leopard Population Estimate Study

Task: Deploy Camera Traps in Identified Hotspots (Select survey sites based on previous sightings and habitat suitability)

Task: Conduct Field Surveys for Leopard Tracks and Signs (Perform transect walks to document pugmarks, scat, and scratch marks)

Minor Milestone: Leopard survey process approved
Task: Complete the proposed list of software and hardware.
Task: Complete the proposed implementation timeline.

Minor Milestone: Buy enough traps to survey the region.

Task: Place traps on regular route of Leopards.

Task: Analyse data.

These all sound like great tasks! Maybe your minor milestones could be 1. Deploy the survey (tasks = buy enough traps to survey the region and place traps on regular route of leopards) and 2. Conclude the survey (tasks = collect traps, enter data, and analyze data).

I like the idea of doing a diet study! Maybe the tasks could include collecting scats and analyzing contents.

Minor milestone: Deploy camera traps at identified locations
Task 1: Develop a camera locations grid across Edradour sized based on typical home range of leopard
Task 2: Purchase camera traps

Here is my example:

Minor Milestone - Place camera traps at identified leopard hotspots
Task 1 - Procure camera traps with Ai-based species recognition that can identify specified species and filter uploads to the server
Task 2 - Analyze the data captured on the camera traps as they sync to the server over a specific period of time.

Major Milestone: Mid-year 2025 leopard surveys completed

Minor Milestone: Installation of camera traps

Task: site assessments.to determine the best locations for camera traps based on previous sightings and habitat suitability.

Task: training field staff on to install and maintain the camera traps, as well as how to correct data report.

Minor Milestone: determine how the suvery will be done to monitor & identity the leopards available (Camera Traps)

Task1: Aquire the cameras

Task2: determine where to install the cameras.

Task 3: assign individuals to monitor the cameras frequently - recharge batteries or replace memory cards when full.

Task4: Analyst the images captured to identify different leopards & possible population

Here are my answers:

Major Milestone: Mid-year 2025 leopard surveys completed

Minor Milestone: All leopards within the area of research have been identified and accounted for the survey.

Task 1: Motion tracking cameras along the research area perimeter have been set and are working in order.

Task 2: Research personnel have been instructed in how to set and operate the motion tracking cameras and the corresponding data collection system.
