I look forward to applying the principles and skills from this course to enhance conservation efforts and achieve meaningful impacts. At The Nature Conservancy in Zambia, I am responsible for developing a robust M&E system, including a tracker for activity implementation and budgeting.

Hi there
I am a marine and freshwater scientist from New Zealand. I grew up in the North of England but moved to NZ 25 years ago. I am an educator and scientist. I believe that training and teaching people about conservation is the solution to our environmental crisis. I work for a charitable trust and teaching people and supporting volunteers.
In my spare time I love to be on the ocean or in the bush.Â

I'm excited to be here and I loook forward to interacting with as many of you as I can while we continue the learning.
I love trees, so I try to keep a nursery of fruit and/or indigenious trees in my backyard to give out to those willing to plant them, and plant others myself whenever I can.Â

I live in London, currently, and in my spare time I like getting out of Londonto hike and be around nature, I also frequently attend nature / environmental events - for example, recently I went to see Simon Reeve talk about his experience of climate change whilst travelling and Merlin Sheldrake discuss the secret life of Fungi (links below) . Both were very fascinating and inspirational. Â

Hello everyone!
My name is Ingrid Ellehoj. I am an Environmental Technology student in Argentina. My degree is quite general, so I’m immersing myself in different fields to gain experience and also figure out what I might be interested in doing in the future.
Lately, I’ve had a few experiences meeting PhD students, and hearing about their studies has been a great source of inspiration. I’m also studying air contamination using moss as bioindicators.
I enjoy cooking, baking, and going on walks.
I’ll leave the link to an organization that studies endangered species in Argentina. Fundación Somuncura

Hi all, My names Sam. I live on the South coast of England and I am an Area Ranger for a charity called the National Trust. Its an 8500 acre estate with many different habitats and challenges. We are fielding vast nature gain objectives and thus wish to improve my skills in project management and hopefully grant writing as I deem it incredibly important in the field but vastly undertrained within the industry! All the best, Sam.
Hi all,
I currently work as a free-lance ecologist, before that I worked in ecological consultacy for 3 years. I really want to get into conservation but it is proving a challenge despite my voluntary experience in Africa, Europe and Central America. I hope that this course will raise my skills and enable me to get a job that satisfies my desire to support nature and maybe even involves some resaerch.
Hi all, my name is Kat and I’m here as a career changer diving into the world of wildlife conservation. I’m currently volunteering at a UK zoo that’s an official non-EAZA EEP participant, involved in four EEPs and two ESBs. I’m also volunteering with a local trust on habitat restoration for pollinators and monitoring butterflies as biodiversity indicators.
Alongside this, I’ve been studying applied animal behaviour, which has deepened my passion for species that often get misunderstood or overlooked, like hyenas, vultures, foxes, and wolves. I hope to work with any of them directly one day, ideally through fieldwork and public education.
In September, I’ll start a conservation degree here in the UK, which I hope will give me more hands-on experience. I’m taking this WildTeam course to build a solid foundation in project management, which I imagine will be useful in pretty much any area of conservation I end up in!
In my spare time, I love creative writing, nature photography, and live music. Really looking forward to learning alongside you all.
Hello everyone, my name is Alessio Mocci, I've recently complete a MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation with a focus on Marine Ecology and Conservation at Queen Mary University of London, UK. I have a medical background, I have worked in surgery for many years but my professional life has now taken a different direction. Marine biology and ecology have always been my passion despite a busy medical career. The MSc has given me the opportunity to work on a research project on spatio-temporal distribution of marine megafauna (mainly sea turtles and sharks) in a marine protected area in Cabo Verde, using drone technology. I have also spent 10 days on site collaborating with a local NGO, doing beach patrols and collect data on nesting sea turtles and attending workshops on shark ecology, sea birds ecology and sustainable fishing. I have also spent one week with an NGO in my home town in Italy, where I helped with rescuing sea turtles. I'm currently applying for PhD programs in marine ecology and conservation.
In the spare time I like spending time as close as possible to the sea, swimming and scuba diving. When this is not possible, I like hiking and cycling.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to complete this course and I'm lookin forward to learn as much as I can from other fellow conservationists!
I'd like to share the links to the two marine conservation NGOs I've had the privilege to work with on the island of Sal in Cabo Verde and in Ravenna, Italy, my home town. Please check them out, they do a great job!

Hi there,
My name is Charley, I am a bat conservationist from the UK. I currently work with the Bat Conservation Trust and co-ordinate our Bat Care Network project. I also look after bats voluntarily in my spare time and participate in bat surveys, such as bat box checks, trapping and activity surveys.Â
I have taken part in a bat research project in Zimbabwe, trapping and cataloguing which species are present in Imire Rhino Conservation Reserve.
I also volunteered at Tolga Bat Hospital in QLD, North-East Australia this year, and rehabilitated orphaned spectacled flying foxes, as well as aided in the rehabilitation of smaller speices.
I am very interested in marine conservation also, particularly sharks!
