Hello everyone,

I'm Julia, the Programme Coordinator of Conservation Optimism, a global community dedicated to sharing stories and resources to empower people from all backgrounds to make a positive impact for wildlife and nature.

I specialise in science communication and love sharing conservation success stories. I come from a mixed background in conservation and journalism and I'm the co-founder of INKLINE, an international media platform that features solutions-focused news and interviews with organizations that champion social cultural causes.

I love creating resources for people from all walks of life and really enjoy mixing art and conservation by organising events like the Conservation Optimism Short Film Festival.

My best wildlife encounter happened in Brazil during a bird survey. I stumbled upon a group of lesser-yellow headed vultures and their faces were so colourful that I always describe them to people as rainbow-headed vultures!

I'm very excited to be part of this community!

Welcome to the community Julia! I love the rainbow-headed vultures and your banner made me smile, thank you :)

Also, we have another WildHub member who loves mixing art with conservation, her name is Sofiya Shukova (please find her introduction post published earlier today) - perhaps you could connect!

Wishing you a positive day and I look forward to learning more about Conservation Optimism (and I think more WildHub members would be interested too); feel free to write a post about your work with everyone here, perhaps it would fit nicely under the 'well-being' or 'capacity building' channels?

Hi Julia, Sofiya and I have meanwhile set up a room on WildHub for art and conservation. It would be wonderful if you would like to share your work in this room as well. Please find it here: https://wildhub.community/rooms/1001-art-and-conservation
