Hi, WILDHUB community!

I'm Majda, a PhD student based in Morocco, with a deep passion for species conservation. My research focuses primarily on the Barbary macaque (Macaca sylvanus), an endangered species that is endemic to Morocco. Protecting this iconic species and its habitat is a cause I'm deeply passionate about!

I joined the WildHub community to connect with like-minded researchers and professionals, exchange ideas, and collaborate on conservation efforts. I'm also excited to stay informed about funding opportunities and training sessions.

I look forward to learning from all of you and exploring ways we can work together to protect the species that need our help the most!

Feel free to reach out if you would like to chat or collaborate.

Best,

Majda

A warm welcome to WildHub, Majda! Wonderful to have you join us and thank you for sharing about your background and your goals; I remember observing your beautiful Barbary macaque during a visit in Morocco many years ago and it inspired me to follow a path to primate conservation back then too!

You are probably familiar with the Barbary Macaque Awareness and Conservation team? We have their very own @Lucy Radford as a member of our community! See: https://barbarymacaqueconservation.org/the-team/

Perhaps of interest to you could be our Conservation Catalyst programme here, which can be a great experience for networking as well as sharing other people’s learnings.

Also, I would recommend joining our member Social events (dates here) which is a great way to get to know other members.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for your warm welcome. I am happy to hear that the Barbary macaque also inspired your journey into primate conservation!

I'm indeed familiar with the Barbary Macaque Conservation and Awareness Association and admire their impactful work.

I'll explore the Conservation Catalyst program and the social events you mentioned; they sound like excellent opportunities for learning and getting in touch with others in the field.

Thank you again,

Majda
