Human-Wildlife Conflict: Effort to mitigate the crisis.
Human Wildlife Conflict is of great challenge in the conservation world, in such that competition for meager resources between wildlife and human through anthropogenic activities such as logging concessions, illegal farming encroachment, leading to habitat loss and land fragmentation and as a result causing accelerated depletion in mammals populations. I published a research paper last year at a conference in Nigeria on impacts of human-wildlife conflict on the host communities of Omo biosphere reserve, I have another conference presentation on management of human-wildlife conflict in Omo biosphere forest reserve, Nigeria to be delivered at the 8th Wildlife Society of Nigeria (WISON) conference slated for Abuja, Nigeria between 16th – 19th September, 2026. My proposed doctoral research is on land use and land cover change impacts on mammal population dynamics in Omo forest mosaic landscape, Ogun state, Nigeria.
