Mr. Founder & Executive Director at Sustainable Run for Development-SURUDEV
I am Kari Jackson Bongnda, a Wildlife Ecologist/Wildlife Resources Manager, Biodiversity Conservationist and Landscape Restoration Specialist with 19 years of professional experience in environmental management, community development and sustainable livelihoods.
I am a PhD Fellow in Wildlife Resources Management and Ecology at the University of Calabar, Nigeria, and hold two MSc degrees with First Class Honours in Wildlife Resource Management and Biodiversity Conservation and Management.
As Founder and Executive Director of Sustainable Run for Development (SURUDEV), a Cameroon-based conservation and sustainable development organisation, I lead initiatives that connect biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, climate resilience and community empowerment.
My work spans wildlife research, ecological monitoring, forest landscape restoration, agroforestry, environmental education, climate advocacy, sustainable agriculture, grant development and nature-based solutions. Through community-driven projects, I work with local communities, women, youth, farmers and other vulnerable groups to promote inclusive conservation and sustainable livelihoods.
I am particularly passionate about translating scientific research into practical conservation action, strengthening community participation in natural resource management, and building strategic partnerships that deliver lasting environmental and social impact. My current work is on sustainable food-secured eco-village for landscape restoration and the conservation of palearctic birds and bee-eaters of the Njising-Tabenken forest and the Nkambe plateau in the Bamenda Highlands of Cameroon
I look forward to connecting with fellow conservation professionals, researchers, organisations and practitioners on WildHub to exchange knowledge, share experiences, explore collaborations and contribute to a more sustainable future for people and nature.
