Hello Everyone! I am a corporate Administrative professional with a work experience of almost 18 years. However, parallel to my corporate jobs, I am from the field of Animal Welfare since 30 years and have been a part of Small Animal Street Dog Population Management, Vaccinations of Street Animals, Rescue and Rehabilitation of Physically Challenged Cats and Dogs. I have been active on field with Rescues, Neutering and treatment of injured and ailing street cats and dogs.
For 16 years I was also a voluntary care-taker of a Cattery which provided a permanent shelter to physically challenged cats.
I have always been intrigued and drawn towards Wildlife and found Human – Animal Interface, Environmental Enrichment of Animals Bred in Captivity & of those Rescued from severe Abuse for Human Benefit , Conservation of Species and Habitats of Interest and Importance.
I would like to consider a Career Change into Wildlife Conservation for the 2nd innings of My Life, thus, making a start with acquiring professional knowledge in the field of Wildlife Conservation.
I am a First class graduate in Microbiology and Biochemistry, volunteered at Veterinary clinics, and also hold a great interest in Veterinary medicines and ways of handling, capture, anaethesia of wild animals.
All Animals exhibit varying behaviours when under stress or they need to be relocated and it is truly amazing to see and learn how veterinary professionals, conservationists, animal handlers, work in perfect co-ordination thereby driving success of any task that needs to be completed. Welcome to my page! My name is Michelle Parsons, and I'm excited to share with you my passion for conservation. I hold a BSc in Zoology with Conservation from Bangor University and currently work as a Senior Bat Advisor, Project Coordinator for the Volunteer Bat Care Helpline (VBCH) & VBRV Lead at the Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) in the UK.
I've been fortunate enough to work in various roles within the Bat Conservation Trust, starting out as a Volunteer Engagement Officer for the National Bat Monitoring Programme (NBMP), Survey Administration Officer for the BatsinChurches Project, and as an NBMP Project Volunteer.
I currently work on the National Bat Helpline, where I provide advice and support to the public regarding bats. I also play a key role in recruiting and training volunteers for the Volunteer Bat Care Helpline, who handle many of the bat care enquiries we receive through the helpline.
Beyond my work with BCT, I also contribute as a Social Media Officer for the London Bat Group, helping to promote awareness and engagement across digital platforms.
I'm always eager to learn more and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field, which is why I regularly attend webinars and training courses on a range of important topics. I have completed Grant Writing & Project Management for Wildlife Conservation courses and am currently enrolled on the Project Planning course.

Shelley acts as community manager for the two growing networks that sit alongside the core Cambridge Masters in Conservation Leadership teaching programme; the University of Cambridge Conservation Leadership Alumni Network (UCCLAN) and the Conservation Leadership Transformation Network. The management of these two networks delivers two of the three goals set out in the Masters in Conservation Leaderships ten-year strategy; to catalyse the impact of the UCCLAN; and to establish a Global Conservation Leadership Community of Practice.
Shelley is a former archaeologist, who moved into the communications sector and has been specialising in external affairs and communications at the University of Cambridge for the last 15 years. Shelley is a brand specialist with extensive experience in delivering large-scale communications campaigns for the University’s high-profile events such as the Cambridge Science Festival, alongside training staff and students from across the University in to how to engage audiences both in person and online.
I have a MSc in Zoo Conservation Biology with Distinction from the University of Plymouth, linked with Paignton Zoo Environmental Park; the Wild Planet Trust. During my MSc, WildTeam gave a presentation on conservation planning, further teaching me of the fundamental importance of planning for a successful conservation project.
In the future, I would like to complete WildTeam's Project Management for Wildlife Conservation training so I can plan and manage such projects as the one I am currently working on.
